Living in Fear of Sex Killer Alfred Jessop
A family has revealed their frightening brush with child killer Alfred Jessop and told of their fear that he is out of jail and returning to old habits.
****** , **, claimed Jessop had a fascination for her when she was a child in the early 1970s and he had even indecently assaulted her during a family dinner.
The pervert, who murdered eight-year-old Vicki Barton a few years earlier in 1969 but was yet to be arrested for the crime, was married to her mother's cousin and would visit the ***** family's Western Sydney home.
"I was only young, we sat down to dinner and he put his hand on my leg and started going up," Ms ***** said yesterday.
"My father was furious and grabbed him by the throat.
"We wanted him to stay in jail then we find out he has been out for six years. We want the bastard locked up again."
She claimed Jessop had a son and he would later leave him in his pram at the train station while he followed girls and harassed them.
Sources yesterday said the killer was obsessed with pictures of blonde girls while he was in jail.
Ms ***** mother ***** *****, **, said she never let her three daughters out on their own when Jessop was around and was relieved when her mother's instinct was confirmed and Jessop was jailed.
She said she was terrified when she saw the front page of The Daily Telegraph yesterday which revealed that Jessop had built a bicycle trailer like the one he used to carry Vicki's body.
"The last time I saw him was when I punched the lights out of him in my loungeroom after he tried to put his hands in my cousin's mouth and rip her open," Ms ***** said.
"He used to get that way. Then he used to go out in the yard and cry if she wouldn't speak to him."
Ms ***** said her cousin eventually left Jessop with their son, who she said "shared none" of his father's genes and was a lovely young man when she saw him last.

Too Twisted to be Let Loose
Perhaps Stephen King or someone else with a talent for imagining horror could conceive of Alfred Jessop.
Reality, however, rarely offers us his kind. Here we have a shockingly twisted being, who 40 years ago, murdered an eight-year-old girl with his bare hands then hauled her lifeless body into the woods on a trailer attached to his bicycle.
That is terrifying enough. But the chilling King twist is that child-killer Jessop is now out of prison.
And riding around Liverpool, at 55 years of age, on a bicycle. With a trailer attached.
Little wonder that authorities consider him a time bomb. The man is plainly revelling in his vile past.
The fact that Jessop is free at all is troubling, to say the very least.
The introduction of tougher sentencing guidelines in the years following evil Jessop's imprisonment may keep more recent offenders of similar hateful brutality off our streets.
With Jessop, though, we simply have to deal with him, as disgusting as that is.
And that is despite this monster being convicted of assaulting a woman in 2006 - and, unbelievably, being placed on a mere good behaviour bond.
Police are rightfully following Jessop's every move. Hopefully they are primed to pounce the very first time Jessop does anything even vaguely questionable.
Normal police practices, of maintaining some distance, must be suspended in the case of someone so sinister.
The sooner this cycling psychopath is removed from the community, the better.

Freed Child Killer Alfred Jessop 'A Walking Timebomb'
A convicted child killer - dubbed a "time bomb" by authorities - has built a replica of a bicycle trailer he used to carry the body of his eight-year-old victim 40 years ago.
Alfred Jessop has been spotted cycling through western Sydney streets, raising fears over his intentions.
The Daily Telegraph can also reveal the 55-year-old sexual psychopath is intent on tracking down his step-grandchildren through a television program by using aliases.
Corrective Services Commissioner Ron Woodham said he was seriously worried about Jessop's actions.
"He's a walking timebomb," he said.
"I've got serious concerns about what this bloke's up to and we're scrutinising him even more closely as a result.
"I would put Jessop in the highest bracket of people with the potential to seriously harm someone."
Jessop is among 17 serious sexual offenders free on Sydney's streets but being tracked by Corrective Services community compliance group.
Almost half of those have breached parole in the past 12 months.
Jessop strangled eight-year-old Vicki Barton in 1969 when she refused to have sex with him after he lured her to an oval in Lawson in the Blue Mountains. He then used his bicycle trailer to carry her body to bushland where he buried her.
Her bones lay undiscovered until August 1970 when then eight-year-old ***** **** stumbled upon them in scrub near Springwood while playing hide and seek with sister ******.
***** and ****** are outraged that not only is Jessop free but he has built "another murder vehicle".
"They should have left him behind bars. He took this little girl's life. She'd be about 47 now," ***** said.
Even now they become emotional when discussing the murder.
"It completely destroyed my childhood," ***** told The Daily Telegraph.
"For years he was still out there and I never felt safe again. They have let a predator loose on the streets."
They had lived in fear for their lives for seven years until Jessop, who lived in Lawson, was finally arrested.
While serving an 18-month sentence for assaulting a woman at a railway station, he bragged to an inmate that he had killed Vicki Barton.
Despite being sentenced to life in 1978, he was released in 2003 after his term was redetermined to 26½ years in 1992 under truth-in-sentencing laws.
A psychiatric report tendered to court for his sentencing described him as a "sexual psychopath".
While in prison the first time he had to be stopped from writing letters to young girls whose names he found in a Sunday newspaper.
Since being freed he has breached numerous child protection orders and committed an assault on a woman in 2006, which resulted in a five-year good behaviour bond.
The community compliance group, which tracks high-risk offenders, has also raised concerns that Jessop, on his bicycle, is known to frequent parks where children play.
