Women On Alert Over Attacks
POLICE have warned women in Adelaide's northern suburbs
to be on the alert after the abduction of a second
woman in the area in as many weeks.
They are investigating the attack on the 18-year-old
woman on Walton Ave, Clearview, about 11 pm on Saturday
night. Two men bundled her into a green or dark blue VT
or VX Commodore, parked on the street, before raping her.
Police believe the vicious attack is linked to an attack last
week at Pooraka in which a 16 year-old girl was snatched on
Maxwell Rd, before an attempt was made to rape her. Detective
Senior Sergeant, Peter Shanahan, from the Sexual Crime
Investigation Unit, warned women to:
STAY in well-lit areas.
WALK with a friend.
STAY "alert", walk confidently.
GO to the nearest place of help if something happened.

Rapists Hits Twice
Two sexual assaults less than a week apart in Pooraka and
Clearview are linked and the attackers may strike again, police say.
"We're clearly concerned these men might strike again,"Sen-Sgt Peter Shanahan,
from The Sexual Crime Investigation Branch told the News Review Messenger.
"Both victims are seriously traumatised and we need to make sure we catch these men".
Police have issued a warning to women in the area urging them to be vigilant.
In the latest attack a woman, 18, was abducted by two men while she was walked
along Walton Ave, Clearview, on Saturday, April 2, at about 11pm.
She was grabbed from behind by two men and dragged into a dark green, or blue,
Commordore sedan and assaulted. She was released after a short time and the
attackers drove off.
It followed an attack on a girl, 16, in Pooraka on Monday, March 28.
The girl was walking along Maxwell Road between 3:30pm and 4:30pm
when she was dragged into a car of a similar description.
She was assaulted by two men and later dropped off in the Elizabeth area.
Sen-Sgt Shanahan would not discuss the details of the incidents but said
"the nature of the attacks had escalated."
He said the victims description of the two men were "strikingly similar".
One man is caucasian, aged mid to late 20's, about 180cm tall, with a muscular build,
shaved head and goatee beard.
The second man is aged in his early 20's, about 180cm tall, with tanned skin,
brown, scraggly, collar-length hair and a peircing in his right eyebrow.
Sen-Sgt Shanhan said police had received a number of calls
from the public with information about the attacks,
but there were no suspects at this stage.
Anyone with information should contact Crimestoppers.
