Hunt For Serial Sex Attacker
POLICE believe a child molester has targeted three boys on
Sydney's North Shore in increasingly violent attacks.
Officers yesterday warned parents to be on the look-out for the man,
who has struck twice at the Crows Nest Plaza shopping centre.
The other attack occurred at a school in North Sydney.
Senior Sergeant David Bennett, of the child protection and sex
crimes squad, said the latest attack occurred on Saturday afternoon.
Two brothers, aged six and nine, were leaving the shopping centre
shortly after midday when the man indecently assaulted the nine-year-old.
The attack lasted one or two minutes and the boy's younger brother,
who was ahead of him in the stairwell, did not witness the attack.
Due to the description of the man and location of the attacks, it's
believe he has struck twice before.
About 8pm on March 20, in the same centre, another nine-year-old boy was
assaulted in the centre's toilets.
As he left a cubicle, the man tried to grab him but he pushed him away and ran off.
On May 10, about 8.45pm, a 16-year-old boy was indecently assaulted in the
grounds of a school on Miller St at North Sydney.
The man approached and asked him questions about the school before attacking.
Sgt Bennett said police were viewing CCTV footage from the shopping centre.
He is described as white/European, aged in his mid 20s, 165cms-175cm tall,
of medium build with a shaven receding hair line.
Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers-1800 333 000.
