Date Rape Drug Stolen From Hospital

A DRUG which has been used in date rape attacks has been stolen from a north Queensland hospital, sparking fears that it could be sold on the streets.
Police said 63 vials of the drug called midazolam had been stolen from Ayr General Hospital. The drug is commonly used by hospitals as a sedative for patients, but has also surfaced on the streets as a drug used in date rape attacks.
Police feared the drug could fall into the wrong hands and be used to spike drinks in nightclubs and bars.
