Child Protection Group Wants Paedophile Laws Tightened

A national lobby group has welcomed a Bill before the Northern Territory Parliament tightening laws for paedophiles and sex offenders.
The Movement Against Kindred Offenders group says the proposed convicted offenders database, with the removal of names after 15 years, does not go far enough.
The group's Spokesperson says the database should be retrospective.
"We believe it needs to be backdated probably 30 or 40 years because they're still living, and to think that a child sex offender stops re-offending because he's old, is ridiculous," he said
