Public Help Police Hunt For Girls' Attacker

Police yesterday parted a caravan in Joseph Street, Ballarat, in a drive for more information about the sexual assault of two eight-year-old girls last Saturday.
The girls were playing beside warrenheip Creek, in Callow Street, Ballarat East, when they were approached by a man about 5:30pm.
He then lured them to a drain and sexually assaulted them. Police spokesman Michael Henry said the caravan had given the public an opportunity to provide police with some useful details about the assaults. "Our people in the caravan say they have had a good response and that it has given them more scope for investigation," he said.
