Town Joins Police Hunt

BALLARAT residents have responded strongly to an appeal for help in the investigation into the sexual assault of two girls, both 8.
A police spokesman said dozens of people visited a police caravan that was stationed in the town yesterday to seek new leads for the investigation.
The girls were assaulted after a man lured them into a culvert to Callow St, Ballarat East, last Saturday at 5.30pm. Police are looking for a clean-shaven man in his 20s with dark crew-cut hair.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers 1800 333 000.
