POLICE have swooped on Victorian pedophiles in a maior attack on child pornography.
Hundreds of search warrants have been executed around the nation in the Australia-wide crackdown on internet pornography.
An investigation by the Australian Federal Police and state police forces has led to charges being laid against dozens of people. with more expected.
Some of those charged are from Victoria.
Most of the charges relate to possession and trafficking of child pornography through the internet.
A large amount of computer equipment has been seized as part of the operation, which involved officers from the Victoria Police sexual crimes squad.
Police are understood to have uncovered links between the Australians who came under investigation and pedophiles overseas.
