Teacher Police Checks

NEW laws to enable the state's 35,700 registered teachers to undergo police checks passed through Parliament yesterday.
The police checks were part of the Teacher Registration and Standards Act 2005, covering Government, Independent and Catholic schools. The State Government has approved funding of $700,000 to complete the checks by the end of term two next year.
