Louise Bell Murder Suspect Jailed for Child Sex
A CURRENCY Creek man who had a conviction overturned for the murder of
a 10-year-old girl more than 25 years ago has been jailed for unrelated child sex offences.
Raymond John Bolte was jailed on Friday for seven years after being found
guilty of four counts of indecent assault and one charge of unlawful sexual intercourse.
Bolte, formerly known as Raymond Geesing, was sentenced to life imprisonment
for the 1983 murder and abduction of Louise Bell from her Hackham West home.
That conviction was overturned by the Court of Criminal Appeal two years later
and Bolte was freed from jail.
The 62-year-old was today sentenced to seven years jail, with a five-year non-parole
period, for sexually abusing two sisters over an eight-year period in the 1990s.
Judge Paul Rice said Bolte had been convicted of seven unrelated counts of indecent
assault in 1983 but said the Bell murder was "otherwise irrelevant to my purposes".
Judge Rice said the correctional services department "will do their best" to keep him
safe in jail but noted "there may be some prisoners who think you were involved in the Bell matter".
Outside the court, one of the sisters, now aged 17, said she was somewhat disappointed
by the five-year non-parole period.
"But it's five years that he can't touch anybody," said the victim, who can't be named.
"I think he'll have a hard time in prison ... but it doesn't take away the pain."

Louise Bell suspect 'pedophile'
THE man jailed - and then released - for the 1983 murder of Louise Bell is a "child molesting
pedophile" who ruined the lives of two young girls, a court has heard.
In tearful victim impact statements read to the District Court today, the girls said Raymond
John Bolte was a monster who had repeatedly molested them over an eight year period.
"I have flashbacks and consistent reminders of the monster that destroyed my childhood," the
younger girl, now 17, said.
"Your face is the one thing I see when I close my eyes at night.
"I thought that court would heal the invisible wounds but it hasn't.
"The pain you caused will always be there, you were supposed to be my protection but all you
turned out to be was a child molesting pedophile."
Outside court, the other girl, 20, said the consequences of Bolte's crimes would live inside her forever.
"I hope that he suffers a lot because that is what we had to do, we lost our childhood," she said.
"I really hope he rots, because that is what he did to our life. He made it rot."
Bolte, 62, of Currency Creek, was found guilty of four counts of indecent assault and one count
of unlawful sexual intercourse between March 1996 and July 2004.
Formerly known as Raymond John Geesing, he was convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment for
the 1985 abduction and murder of 10-year-old Louise Bell.
Bolte spent 16 months in jail before the Court of Criminal Appeal quashed his conviction and released him.
The murder still remains unsolved.
Today, the two girls told the court they were relieved Bolte, who has previous child sex offences
from 1983, would finally be held accountable for what he did to them.
"My whole life you have made me feel worthless, it was a huge weight lifted off my shoulders when
you were found guilty," the 20-year-old girl said.
Anthony Crocker, for Bolte, said his client had been targeted in prison because of the nature of
his crimes and had been physically assaulted.
Prosecution lawyers said Bolte had shown no remorse for his crimes and must be punished.
"Bolte's conduct can only be described as being a sexual predator towards people who were put into
his trust and they had, no doubt, looked up to him," he said.
Judge Paul Rice remanded Bolte in custody to be sentenced in January.
