Police hunt sex predator who allegedly assaulted girl, 12, in East Brighton 2007
DETECTIVES haven't given up hope of catching a man who sexually assaulted a 12-year-old girl in East Brighton.
Detectives from the Sexual Crime Squad are investigating the alleged sexual assault that happened in November, 2007.
Police have been told a girl was walking alone in a laneway between Charlotte and Montgomery Streets around sunset on Wednesday November 7, 2007.
It is alleged the 12-year-old saw a man leaning against a fence about 30 metres east of the Charlotte Street end.
As she walked past the man, she was grabbed and pushed to the ground before being seriously sexually assaulted by the man.
The man is described to be Caucasian, in his late 20's or early 30's, 170cm tall, tanned, athletic build with short brown messy hair.
He was wearing a dark coloured round neck windcheater with black shiny track pants with two white stripes down the sides.
Police have released a FACE image of a man they believe may be able to assist them with their investigation.
Detectives would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and may have seen the man in the vicinity or anyone with any
