Abuse Shock

COLOMBO- A study shows one in five Sri Lankan boys have been sexually abused, prompting tighter laws against pedophiles.
Most of the abusers were Sri Lankan and not foreigners, said the head of a task force on child protection.
"A girl's virginity is important at the time of marriage so they are protected in many ways," said Mr Harendra de Silva.
The study found 10 per cent of Sri Lankan aged between 18 and 25 had sexually abused young boys.
